Some of my Favorite LinksVisit the 2008 Show Schedule »»»» Friends of Arizona Highways: www.friendsofazhighways.com I’ve taken several trips with these folks, and have had some wonderful experiences. Nothing could top my rafting trip down the Colorado in the Grand Canyon. If you’ve any thoughts about having an adventure with photography as your goal, and being around like-minded people, I highly recommend Friends. Hill Country Photo Lab: The last of the real deal Mom and Pop photo shops. Patti and John are kind and caring people who go above and beyond, and provide the majority of my photo production. Places like this are far apart and few between. Armadillo Christmas Bazaar: There is simply no other art show, (if it can even be described as such), as the Dillo. The artists there are a family, and we have a working reunion every year. For your Christmas shopping experience, you might just say, It ain’t the mall. Where else can you find wonderful and imaginative art, live music, good food and drink, and shoppers who are really glad to be there. New friends are made every year, and old ones welcomed back. We’ll be back at the Austin Convention Center, so come down and check it out. This is the venue where I present my new works from the year’s adventuring, and I’m able to have on hand almost all of my work. Come laugh with us at the Bizarre Bazaar, and see what’s been happening. Also, check out the new MySpace page which has lots of pictures and information about the show: http://profile.myspace.com Orange Tree Productions: www.orangetreeproductions.com This producer provides some of the most inspiring, transforming, peaceful and just plain beautiful music which so captures the spirit of the places included in their catalog. They record the natural sounds of birds, wildlife and the weather in each location and include them in the music, and it just carries me away. I particularly recommend The Living Desert, and Peaks, Plateaus and Canyons. Spicewood Arts Festival: These are the friendly folks who produce my little “neighborhood” art festival in the fall. Click on Spicewood Arts Roundup. Hill Country Alliance: I live in the Texas Hill County, or what’s left of it. This is a pro-active, dedicated group of people who have the best interests of our beloved hill country at heart. The specter of development has hit us hard, and most of the growth has come at us with the feeling of pillage and plunder. Our creeks, the lifeblood of some of our communities, have been fouled with the runoff of unbridled development and subsequent destruction. HCA stays on top of what’s going on, and keeps us informed of what we need to know. Kathleen Marie Studio: My very good friend Kathleen Marie is the most amazing artist, and an absolute master at Pyrography. Take a look at her wondrous art, purely a gift from the heart and spirit of a special soul. We’ve even become roadtrip buddies, so she comes highly recommended on many levels. I’ll also be showing at her open house this fall. Spicewood Spines: Spicewood Spines Cactus Nursery and Art Gallery is located in the small Texas Hill Country city of Spicewood, about 35 miles northwest of Austin. Offering a wide variety of cacti and succulents from around the world, and a selection of native and cold-hardy plants. The art gallery features some of the finest new artists in the Hill Country and surrounding area, as well as some well established favorites working in the areas of fine art jewelry, fine art pyrography (originals and prints), original paintings, watercolors, and colored pencil drawings, ceramic and wooden sculpture, and Mata Oritz pottery.
