Eve's Garden - Marathon, Texas

Eve's Garden is a treasure trove of art - everywhere you look is a feast for the eyes. And breakfast is a feast for the belly. One of the friends of the hostess was an incredible artist, Monte Schatz, who relocated to Marathon - quite the little bump in the road in West Texas - from the wilds of New York, after a brief detour before that to New Mexico. I wouldn't know how to describe what it is he did, but here's a piece of it, hanging now in a room at the B&B that was built around the wall that holds it.. It's huge. It's wonderful. Andto hear the stories about him.... I wish I could've known him. I asked if I could photograph a part of the piece, was granted permission, and here it is.
