Old Route 66, Arizona
In the summer of 2001 I took a road trip heading West on old Route 66, the Mother Road. All along it are the vestiges of what was - a lot of old bars and watering holes, motels and tourist stops. This particular place is near the New Mexico-Arizona border, but they all look pretty much the same. Cracking paint on adobe, some with Indian designs, all in disrepair. Falldowns, I call them. But they all have a story, and memories, and I wish I could’ve seen them when..........
