THE ROCK IS ALIVE
Zion National Park - Utah

I originally shot this image as a slide in 1976. It has been a favorite since then, and it waited many years to be displayed. While almost defying reality, it is a cliffside in Zion National Park in Southwestern Utah. The land there is indeed a living thing, undulating and piling up on itself, and the colors are fantastic and changing every hour. This image was taken in winter, and snow lies upon the layered rock on the left side of the photograph. I'm glad I have this memory, and am happy to finally share it.
