COOL AND GREEN AND SHADY John Denver wrote a song called Cool and Green and Shady. And sure enough, on the trails beside the Piadra River near Pagosa Springs in Colorado, I found a place that seemed just that to me. A wonderful balance of soft and hard, darkness and light, growth and entropy. A peaceful place, and peace is something we all can use a lot of right now.
