THERE'S GOLD IN THEM THAR HILLS
West Texas
I love this picture. I don't know if anyone else does, or will. But I am captivated by the zig-zag of the old fence that climbs the hill, for some purpose that must have made sense at some time.. Now there is drought and no cattle are needing to be kept within the boundaries that once made a difference. It was spring, but there was no rain, and hardly a trace of green except for the spiky yuccas that stood sentinel. Still the dead grasses told their own story, and were beautiful in themselves. There is often a counterpoint to life, and here it was.
