SAND AND STONE
Carlsbad, California

While walking on the beach near San Diego many years ago, nursing a broken heart, I was captured by the abstract designs of the sand left by the outgoing tide. And the beach was decorated with wonderful rounded stones. The combination of the two made a primal image, accented by the long shadows of the setting sun. Although it took me years to even look at the photographs I took back then, my heart mended, and now I have art to show for my time in California. There's a lesson in there somewhere...
