Alexa Walker's 2008 Show ScheduleI look forward to seeing you at any of these events! Texas State Arts and Crafts Fair One of the oldest and grandest of the Fine Arts and Crafts Fairs in the state, this show offers a broad spectrum of art and entertainment on the wonderful grounds in a really pretty part of Texas. Many events and activities are planned for Memorial Day weekend including plenty of food, music and dancing, also wine and beer tasting, and a children’s area. There’s information about the show at www.tacef.com. Bring the family and friends and plan some fun for Memorial Day. (And buying some art wouldn’t be a bad idea, either.) Kathleen Marie Gallery My good friend Kathleen has invited me to show with her at her delightful studio and gallery tucked into the hill country with all its almost wilderness ambiance. Please join us for a friendly weekend of art and music, and we guarantee a good time will be had by all. Check out her website at www.kathleenmariestudio.com for more info and complete directions. Spicewood Art Society Roundup My wonderful neighborhood art show. This is an intimate little show, held on the grounds of the headquarters of the old Paleface Ranch. Many of us set up in the old horse stalls on the property, and it's quite a pleasant affair with most of the artists from the immediate area — and we're a fine bunch! We'll have an art auction and wonderful food on Saturday night, with live music and dancing to follow. More information can be found at www.spicewoodarts.org, click on Spicewood Arts Roundup. Hope to see you there. The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar This year, the best and most fun art show in the known universe will be back at the Austin Convention Center. Plan a day or an evening with your friends to shop, eat, and party at the Dillo. Live music every night, a bar for your favorite libations, and both unusual and award winning art from many local and nationally known artists. We are proud to be anything but the mall, with lots more smiles and atmosphere. It’s some of the last of the best of what used to be Austin, and what keeps Austin weird and wonderful! Much information can be found at www.armadillobazaar.com. There are more photos and stories and such on the new Armadillo MySpace page: http://profile.myspace.com/ |
